According to Pike County Sheriff Richard Henderson, his office followed up on some leads Monday night, leading to the questioning and arrest of Douglas A. Sanders, 28, of 1911 Morgans Fork Road. Sanders is charged with breaking and entering and is in the Scioto County Jail.
Two televisions that were taken from the restaurant have been recovered, Henderson said, and his office is still following leads and trying to talk to several other people to try to obtain other missing items. Henderson said the hard work and long hours by those in his office paid off, and he is glad to see the officers come together to work on this case as well as other robbery cases.
Henderson also said that they were helped by people giving them tips, and he urges everyone to report suspicious activity to the Sheriff’s Office.
“If people have any information, it really helps us in solving these crimes,” he said.
The robbery at the Lake White Club occurred sometime between 12:30 and 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 18, according to David Crawford, one of the Lake White Club’s owners. Crawford said that items of significant value as well as cash were taken, and a window was busted.
Crawford said last week that the owners as well as the community have been upset by the robbery.
“The community and the people who are calling us are very upset that somebody would be low enough to do something like this because they appreciate having a nice place like this to come to,” Crawford said.
