Shots fired during Wangi RSL armed robbery

SHOTS were fired during a violent armed robbery of the Wangi Wangi RSL Club last night.

An employee and two patrons were inside the Watkins Road club about 11.15pm when two men stormed through doors armed with a .22 calibre rifle and a large stick.

Two shots were fired out of the rifle before the gunman entered an office area looking for cash.

The gunman is described as being of a short and stocky build, with a white t-shirt covering his face and head, wearing grey shorts and a jumper.
