Knife and hammer duo attempt robbery of restaurant

POLICE are investigating after two men attempted to rob a fast food restaurant in Springfield Lakes this morning.

Around 3.30am two men entered the Springfield Lakes Boulevard store armed with a knife and a hammer, and demanded cash.

The store attendants refused to comply. One of the men damaged a cash register and threatened staff.

Both men left the store empty handed.

Police believe this attempt may be linked to an earlier armed robbery in Redbank Plains.

Investigations are continuing.
