POLICE are seeking public assistance to catch a man who robbed a Frenchs Forest pharmacy of a quantity of prescription drugs after threatening the pharmacist.
Northern Beaches crime manager Insp Craig Wonders said a man entered the pharmacy in Bantry Bay Rd at 10pm on Thursday and demanded prescription drugs from the pharmacist, who tried to activate the shop's alarm.
The man restrained the pharmacist and pinned him against a counter, after which the man was handed a quantity of drugs and left the store without further incident
Insp Wonders said it is believed the man had entered the pharmacy at 8.15pm that night and asked about prescription medicines before leaving.
He said the man was described as being about 170cm tall, with a large build and long, dark hair that looked either dyed or dirty.
He said the man was wearing glasses, a gray bicycle helmet, a dark jacket and long grey pants, and was carrying a small black backpack.
Anyone who saw the man in or around Bantry Bay Rd about 8.15pm or about 10pm is urged to call Dee Why police station on 9971 3399.
